Director of Recruiting, Western Canada
Reporting to the VP of Operations & Recruiting, the Director of Recruiting is a highly motivated and visionary individual who will play a crucial role in finding new missionary candidates for work overseas in developing nations. You have great people skills, proven ability to create and manage recruitment strategies, and have strengths in administration. You are also passionate about mission work, have a deep understanding or recruiting strategies and a desire to make a lasting impact.
You will actively strategize and direct recruitment of qualified Career, Short-Term, and Volunteer staff to meet MAF’s personnel needs globally. A key element of the role will be managing and participating in our long-term mentoring program, which involves individuals considering missionary work overseas in developing nations. This is essential to the continued growth of the work of MAF worldwide.

The role is home office based with travel within Canada to colleges, churches, as well as international vision trips to developing nations in Africa and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment
- Develop and implement a comprehensive recruiting strategy to attract and identify qualified missionary candidates for service in developing nations.
- Utilize various recruitment channels to attract potential candidates.
- Conduct interviews, assess candidate qualifications, and make recommendations to the leadership team.
- Provide guidance and support to potential candidates throughout the application and selection process.
- Work closely with the HR department to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new missionaries.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in recruiting to continuously improve the effectiveness of the recruitment process.
- Monitor and report on recruitment metrics to evaluate the success of the recruiting strategy.
- Exercising patience, organization and strong follow through.
- Work with VP of Operations & Recruiting to build an annual budget.
Strategic Partnerships
- Be a relational storyteller and clear communicator of MAF’s mission and vision.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand the specific needs and requirements of various mission fields.
- Build and maintain relationships with Bible colleges, seminaries, churches, and other relevant organizations to expand the candidate pool.
- In collaboration with the Director of Marketing utilize social media platforms to increase brand awareness.

Qualifications & Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, or university preferred.
- Completion of Theological or Biblical studies, preferred.
- Proven experience in recruiting, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-focused organization.
- Strong understanding of the global missions landscape and the challenges faced by missionaries in developing nations.
- Proficiency in business productivity tools, devices, and cloud-based platforms.
- Previous overseas mission experience, preferred.
